Half Marathon: 7:00 a.m. (NO EARLY START)
10K: 7:15 a.m.
5K: 7:25 a.m.
Kids K: 9:00 a.m.
Note: There will be a special Sunrise Service for all interested participants. The service will be held at 6:15 a.m. near the start. It will last approximately 20 minutes.
Runner Packet Pick-up and Late Registration for Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and Kid Events
Dates and Times: Friday, September 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or Saturday,
September 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Location: AthleteÕs Edge (EAST): 7120
Wyoming Blvd. NE – next to New Mexico Sports and Wellness – Del

All runners are required to pick up their race number, t-shirt and other
important information during these times. The event is not able to mail or
deliver runner packets o Champion Chips.
Late registrations for all events will be accepted at the ATHLETEÕS EDGE.
PLEASE NOTE: THERE
IS RACE-DAY REGISTRATION; HOWEVER, ALL PRE-REGISTERD PARTICIPANTS MUST PICKUP
THEIR EVENT PACKETS AT ÒPACKET PICK-UP.Ó
If you are not able to pick up your packets in person at the ATHLETEÕS EDGE,
you must make arrangements for a representative to pick up your packet. Any out
of town participants may pickup their packet on race morning at the
registration area.

The Start is within a short distance from the finish – east side --on the S.I.P.I. property.
Race Day Registration and Timing Chip Pickup will be located at the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (north side of property)

PLEASE USE DESIGNATED PARKING AREAS ONLY. DO NOT PARK ON ANY OF
THE INTERIOR ROADS.

Sunday Start Information
Start location for the 5K, 10K and Half Marathon running events is S.I.P.I.
Portable restrooms will be located near the Start/Finish
All races will start promptly
at the designated times listed above. Allow plenty of time to get to the Start
Line in order to seed yourself according to your projected pace time. If you
are driving to the race plan to arrive early. See parking information above.
Signs will be posted at the Start Area denoting runner's estimated mile pace
(i.e. 7:00 min./mile, 8:00 min./mile, etc.). This is for the benefit of all
runners. Please start in the designated "Mile Pace" area according to
the pace you expect to run the race. This race is a Gun Start with a Timing
Chip finish. The "official time" will start when the gun goes off. Note:
Due to the course design and the fact that most runners/walkers will be through
the first 7 Miles and off the main roads (open to vehicle traffic) in under 2
hours, there will be NO early 6:30 a.m. Start.
Race (Bib) Number Requirements
Each participant will receive a Race (Bib) number that must be worn on race
day. DO NOT alter your race number in any way. Your bib number must be visible
and worn on the front outside of all clothing during the entire race so that it
may be clearly seen. Bib numbers are non-transferable and MUST be worn by the
runner to whom it is assigned.
Medical Support
Medical staff members will be ready to assist you at any time. Radio
communications personnel will be positioned at every aid station along the
course.
The event officials have the right to withdraw any runner from the race who
appears in distress or at risk. If you have a health or medical problem at the
Finish Line, you will be directed to the Medical Area. Please cooperate if you
are asked to go for a checkup. Only runners requiring medical assistance will
be permitted in the Medical Area. If you feel that you need help at any point,
please ask for it!
If you are unable to finish the race for any reason, please notify a race
official of your bib number so that medical personnel is aware.
There will be flags at the aid stations (i.e. every 2 miles) to indicate race conditions. Green flag means good conditions for racing. Yellow flag means moderate risk of heat injury, consider slowing your pace. Red flag means high risk of heat injury or serious environmental condition such as lightning. Consider greatly reducing pace or discontinuing race. A black flag means the course is closed, take shelter.
Finish Information
When you cross the finish line you will be greeted by volunteers who will
assist you with Champion Chip removal and the Chips and Salsa Half Marathon
Finisher Medal (1/2 Marathon Participants Only). Then it's on to the Recovery
Area, where you will get refreshments. Access to Recovery is limited to runners
only.
Half Marathon Awards and
Prizes
The overall and division award winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony
on race day at 10:00 a.m. Overall awards to the top five men and women will be
determined by gun time.
10K
Overall prizes will be awarded to the top three men and women determined by gun
time.
Age group prizes will be given to the top three finishers in the following
categories for men and women: 17 and under (10K), 14-17 (half marathon), 18-24,
25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+. Award times
will be determined by gun time.
5K
Overall prizes will be awarded
to the top three men and women determined by gun time.
Age group prizes will be given to the top three finishers in the following
categories for men and women: 12 and Under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49,
50-59, 60-69, 70+.
Award times will be determined by gun time.
RunFit Kids K
All registered participants (12
and Under) are eligible to participate in the RunFit Kids K. The start of the
RunFit Kids K will begin at 9:00. All participants will receive a special
recognition award at the finish. Childcare (Ages 2-12) will be available for
all registered participants from 6:30-10:00 a.m.
Post Race
Post Race activities will be held immediately upon finishing. All registered
participants will receive a complimentary breakfast and complimentary entry
(must show BIB #) into the New Mexico Sports and Wellness (Riverpoint) located
just west of S.I.P.I. Enjoy a dip in the pool, shower, etc.
All others will need to pay the following discounted breakfast fee at packet pickup or on race day:

cheer you on when you most need the support.
There are 6 fluid and replacement fluid stations supplied by Gatorade
throughout the Half Marathon Course – approx. every 2 Miles. Restroom
facilities will be located near the start area and the finish area. Medical and
first aid personnel will be stationed at the finish and at various points along
the course.
